Sasaki and Miyano (佐々木と宮野, Sasaki to Miyano) is an ongoing manga series by Harusono Shou (春園ショウ). It tells the story of Sasaki Shuumei and Miyano Yoshikazu. The series is updated on Pixiv.

Story Synopsis[]
Volume 1[]
The first volume covers Miyano's first year from February to January.
Miyano witnesses a fight between Kuresawa, his classmate and friend, and several other students. Too afraid to step in, he calls for help over his phone, when Sasaki, a second year student, steps in to dissolve the quarrel. A new bond is formed when Sasaki meets Miyano again a few months later, and he becomes especially interested in Miyano's hobby: Boy's Love manga. Though Sasaki has no idea what seme, uke, or moe means, he is eager to read more in order to get closer with his underclassman.
A special chapter at the end shows Miyano and Sasaki during the Cultural Festival together.

Volume 2[]
The second volume covers from February of Miyano's first year to the start of his second year in April.
Miyano is still lending his BL manga to Sasaki, who gets confronted about it by his friend Ogasawara. Miyano worries that Sasaki might get into trouble with his friends for reading BL, and he is unsure how he feels about the situation. Meanwhile Sasaki struggles to keep his feelings for Miyano under control as their friendship deepens.
The first extra chapter shows Miyano and Sasaki meeting on the train during their ride to school.
The second extra chapter introduces Hirano and his roommate Kagiura's usual morning routine.

Volume 3[]
The third volume covers from May to July of Miyano's second year.
Sasaki finally confesses his feelings to Miyano. Worried that Sasaki only likes him for his pretty face Miyano asks to wait for his response. As Sasaki struggles to set things right with Miyano again, Miyano begins to wonder if it is only admiration he feels towards Sasaki.
An extra chapter at the end shows us the first meeting between Kagiura and Hirano and how Kagiura came to appreciate Hirano.
Also featured is the New Year's Wishes story, previously released in the magazine Monthly Comic Gene.

Volume 4[]
The fourth volume covers from July to October of Miyano's second year.
Miyano is chosen to represent his class for the school's Cultural Festival Cross-Dressing Contest. Though he is still reluctant to do so at first, he notices that he not as hung up about his girlish looks anymore. His understanding of his feelings toward his upperclassman begin to surface, while Sasaki waits patiently for Miyano's answer as he battles against his own insecurities.
The first extra chapter shows Ogasawara and his girlfriend fighting over her BL fangirl habits.
The second extra chapter reveals Hirano's ideal marriage partner.
In addition, this volume also features a special Halloween story that was previously published in the magazine Monthly Comic Gene.

The fifth volume covers from October to November of Miyano's second year.
Though Miyano is now aware of his feelings for Sasaki, he cannot bring himself to confess yet, as he is unsure whether his feelings and Sasaki's are the same. The Cultural Festival provides a special moment for them, though it takes a date at the movie theater to push Miyano over the edge.
The extra chapter has Sasaki being tired from his exams while Miyano is happy to dive into the BL world once again.
The second extra chapter has Kagiura struggling with jealousy over Hirano becoming popular.

The sixth volume covers from December to January of Miyano's second year.
Miyano finally wants to confess his feelings to Sasaki, but finding the right timing proves troublesome. In addition to Miyano's struggles, Sasaki's promise to wait for his answer is put to the test when his feelings for Miyano overwhelm him. With the final exams coming to a close, Sasaki's graduation is slowly approaching.
The extra story features Sasaki wanting to read a smutty prequel to a BL book, but Miyano doesn't want to bring the book to school and thus invites Sasaki to visit his home.
Another extra story revolves around Hirano accidentally getting into the wrong bed at night.

Volume 7[]
The seventh volume covers from January to March of Miyano's second year.
Getting used to being in a relationship, Sasaki and Miyano spend time together. Valentine's Day is around the corner and Miyano makes plans to make chocolate with Sasaki.
Ogasawara finds out that his best friend and Miyano are dating - and gets worried that he may think about them when his girlfriend talks about BL. With all the support they are receiving, Sasaki comes out to his sister as well; and after a heartfelt talk between her and Miyano, they eventually form a bond. Sasaki passes his college entrance exam and finally graduates - and though this means that his time at the school is eventually ending, it also means that his and Miyano's relationship is taking the next step.
The extra chapter has Miyano and Sasaki spending time together at home after an unexpected rain shower.
The second extra chapter is about Kagiura feeling a bit jealous about Hirano becoming close with another student's dog - as well as Kagiura planning to give a little gift to Hirano.

Volume 8[]
The eighth volume covers from April to June of Miyano's third year.
Miyano and his friends are now third years, though Kuresawa has changed classes to focus on college exam preparations after being inspired to apply himself more to his studies by the now-graduated senpai. Miyano begins lending and loaning BL with Kuresawa's girlfriend.
Sasaki and Miyano have adjusted to dating despite no longer attending the same school, meeting up regularly at each others' houses and the local public library. Though they cannot see each other as often and some things have changed, they continue to treat each other with care, promising each other their birthdays from then on.
Much of the volume is also devoted to publishing extra chapters that were formerly only available on Pixiv, such as the 2020 Pixiv Web Manga Awards incentive comics and collaboration comics with other manga series.
The first extra chapter is about Hirano and Kagiura after the events of the Halloween extra chapter in Volume 4.
The second extra chapter is about Sasaki and Miyano reading BL together in Miyano's room.

Volume 9[]
The ninth volume covers from June to September of Miyano's third year.
Miyano invites Sasaki out on a date for his birthday, and asks Kuresawa's advice in setting up a date plan for the day. Tashiro and Shirahama join in, and aside from planning their destinations, the subject of their college plans comes up as well, Miyano having ranked his scores with Sasaki's school but still uncertain whether he wants to go. Miyano also has conflicting feelings over the caution Sasaki has with their public displays of affection.
Their date begins, and it's revealed that Miyano had taken on a part-time job at the library during the summer to treat Sasaki for his birthday. Sasaki kisses Miyano in the aquarium they visit, and when he apologizes for it, Miyano asks him not to, as he is his boyfriend. They bump into Ogasawara, who Miyano enlists in helping distract Sasaki while Miyano discreetly buys a birthday present for him. Hanzawa, Kuresawa, Tashiro, and Shirahama were tailing the couple the whole time as well, now planning to find a way to lure Ogasawara away from them to give them some space. Once Sasaki and Miyano are alone again at the amusement park, they ride the ferris wheel, and Miyano finally gives his present to Sasaki: an ear cuff. Sasaki reveals that he also bought Miyano a present of matching bracelets, and Sasaki wonders if he should have bought a ring instead.
Some time later, Miyano is busy with preparations for the school festival. Sasaki is pestered by his college classmates for information about his partner, and talking about Miyano makes Sasaki miss him even more. He visits Miyano at school, and while Sasaki is filled with yearning for Miyano, Miyano assures him that he'll be going to the same college as Sasaki, and asks him to wait a little longer.
The first extra chapter is about Sasaki tutoring Miyano.
The second extra chapter is about Hirano meeting up with Kagiura after a long day at college.

Roommate AU[]
A special booklet that could have been attained by preordering volume 6 through Animate. The idea was originally pitched as an incentive for voters during the 2019 Pixiv Web Manga Awards. The booklet contains 32 pages and tells a short alternative universe story about Sasaki and Miyano being dorm roommates.
Sasaki accidentally sees a manga on Miyano's desk, and casually asks him to recommend him something. Shocked that his roommate has found out about his secret hobby, Miyano hesitates, wondering if he should really let his roommate read his BL manga.

An anime adaptation based on the series aired in the Winter 2022 season, produced by Studio Deen.
In 2023, a movie adapting the content of volume 7 was released, including a short featurette starring the characters of Hirano and Kagiura.
